Since launching the new Corsham Railway Station campaign website and accompanying social media profiles, we have received an outpouring of support from the local community.
We have highlighted some of our favourites below:
“The opening of Corsham train station can only bring an improvement to the residents of the area and ease the congestion on the roads of Bath, Bristol, Chippenham and Swindon. Furthermore with the proposed cutbacks to the local bus services it will give independence to those who do not drive. I for one will be looking forward to the possibility of using a local, efficient service linking up with the major transport hubs in the region.”
“I would love to see the train station opened! I work in Bath & my husband works in Bristol, we would both use this service daily. Our teenagers go into Bath most weekends… So the whole family would use this on a regular basis.”
“As a Corsham resident I would definitely use a local train service, also as an employer on Leafield I have a number of employees who would consider coming to and from work by train if Corsham station opened.”
“Since they’re cutting the bus services from Chippenham to Bath, this is exactly what we need in Corsham. Most of us on the outskirts near Rudloe would gladly accept a 25 minute walk or 10 minute cycle ride to the train station.”
“Corsham – a town divided by a railway line without its own station and service. Time to correct an historical anomaly.”
“We fully support this project. We live in a developing retirement village of Wadswick Green and a nearby railway station would enhance our lives and prevent the need to drive to either Bath or Bristol.”
